I spoke with Tom about the naming conventions for our screens and we need to make sure we do not name things the same because the code has to have a different name for all the buttons and symbols.
Revisions that need to be done:
Main menu screens
Instructions - Match stars to the games star animation.
Quit Menu - Flip alien. Place buttons and hologram on left side of screen. Bow out the hologram to match hologram on instructions screen.
In-Game menu screens
Life/Death screen - Crack still need work talk to Shelby about making them more realistic. Change Zalien head its all pixal looking (chop Zaliens head off of one of the other screens and use that.
Pause screen - Change the header and match colors to main interface hologram colors and background colors.
New Interfaces screens
In-Game Volume Control - Malina
In-Game Instructions - Malina
In-Game Quit - Adrianna
I talked to Kim and Justin about the in-game screens and were sticking to the hologram arm on all of them so they shouldn't take us to long to achieve once we have the revised approaved pause screen. I have been working on the revisions for the in-game pause but compared to the main menu screens the hologram arm is a little bland so I'm trying to get it to fit better. Also I had to add the button for Volume Control.
Marketing Posters (DUE THURSDAY 07/16/2009)
- Thumbnails - 30 each
- Final Sketches - 2 each
- Photoshop Files - 1 each
I figured we split this even we both do 30 thumbnails then choose four of them and I do two while you do two final sketches. Then we both do one final photoshop file of the two final designs that the team agrees on.
Also, Adrianna the team and Kim asked that you not save over the files in Box.net just make another version. This way we have the whole process availabe to the team.
I know this is a lot of work but I am sure we can get it all done. :) I think that covers it all. If you have any question just let me know.

So I should make the greens used for the hologram coming from his arm the same as the green being used for the main menu? As for the crack I did talk to Shelby and she said it was fine. I don't know what else to do to make it more realistic. I looked up cracks in bubble glass on google and all the had that was different from mine was a circular crack around it, which I added, and black cracks. I'll see what I can do though.
ReplyDeleteFor the volume control should we make a "settings" screen with volume being one of the options? Or is that too much? I admit I don't know what the other options would be.
I also wanted to know what were the mini milestones? You know how Kim gave us Friday 3pm - Sunday 3pm - Tuesday 3pm last time? Do we have anything like that for this next milestone? Is there a certain time we have to get the updated versions of the Interface turned in to the Box? A certain time to get the thumbnails, sketches and digital comps in?
Yes the revisions of the interfaces are due Sat by 3pm. The new menus are due by Tues at 3pm. The posters are due by thursday to present.
ReplyDeleteI have already started on fixing the holograms color and setting up for the new interfaces. Try working on your life/death screen and getting that revised. I will be posting the new hologram pause menu & the main menus quit screen today. So really we need to get the hologram arm approved before we start making it into the final screens for the control, quit, and instructions.
The control menu will have the volume slide bar which Justin told me how to do and two buttons; resume and quit.
