Attention Joe!!!

and anyone who has an opinion.


This week will come the all mighty control change!!! DUN! DUN! DUUUUUUNNNNNNN!

So based on testing what do you think the logical controls are?



Interface people may want to pay attention!

    D = Dismount
    SPACE = Jump
    ESC (and/or ENTER) = Pause
    Arrows = Move/Climb

    That's my opinion.

    Note: Paying attention.

  2. ESC: Pause (I like this as the pause button and I believe people naturally hit the escape button if something pulls them away from the game.)

    Space: Jump (The player does a lot of jumping in our game and the space bar is big enough that the player does not have to worry about hitting a small letter key)

    Z: Shoot (This is close to the space bar and since jumping and shooting are primary to our game I believe this will work better.)

    D or Shift: Dismount (I believe that shift is an easy reach and fits with Z = Shoot and Space = Jump. But D makes sense in a logic way since Dismount starts with the letter D.)

    I am not sure that the player would ever dismount the dinosaur so I was thinking do we need this? I could see this being used if later in the level the player had a choice between two different kinds of dinosaurs.

  3. I have posted above about this, I will mention it here too.

    Overall...
    F = Fire (shoot)
    Space Bar = Jump

    These controls could get hit with a "flip-flop" and the player could choose between the two, on the fly, (if possible).

  4. I think F works and the space bar could work also. But i think W should be for shooting if you ask me. It gives people enough space for there hands and it feels more natural.
