1. The Interface sketches are uploaded to the Box under "Sketches".
2. Tonight I will do full digital renditions of the chosen interface and the hologram arm for testing tomorrow. (Malina can I have a copy of the flash file of the Main Menu?)
3. Both digital versions will be looked at by the group Tuesday morning for changes, updates, etc....
4. Testing will be implemented that morning since there will be so many students available for research (Mwahahahaha) and the winner will be turned in at 3pm.
*NOTE: It is possible to test the pause screen without both versions of the screen ingame, it just requires a printed version and a little Designer-Tester Interaction.
5. The Sketches:
Pause Menu:
In order from Top to Bottom:
A. Information shown in a hologram projected from Zalien's arm.
B. Information shown on a computer console on the ship.
C. Information shown on a data pad held by Zalien
D. Information shown on the console with an alien watching and a background on screen.
The Pause Menu's Quit screen:
In order from Top to Bottom:
A. Information shown on a hologram projected from Zalien's arm.
B. Information shown on ship's main console with an Earth Element glowing on screen.
*NOTE: For those who are confused as to why one of the console designs has to be tested against a holoarm design the reason for this is that the holoarm design was created last term and was to be implemented. However, with the new overall screen designs we have to test to see if the design is still usable. Does it burst the bubble or seem out of place to the player? Or does it prevent the ship console design from taking over the game and is in fact an interesting break?
Please comment. Thank you.
I personally like the hologram interfaces for all of the 'in game' kind of screens, the ones where Zalien is alive anyways. But that may just be me, liking really simple things. We'll have to see what the testers think!
ReplyDeleteThese are nice sketches and I have to say I am partial to the hologram arm myself for the games ingame screens (minus the death screen).
ReplyDeleteI agree with Shelby, I like the simple. However, what "we" like and what the consumers like are usually two different things. I think that testing will prove which design is going to stay. Looks great though! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteSincerely commented. You're welcome.
