Digital comps coming soon, with possible color variations. I plan on using colors from our moodboard for the time being as it would look better on our website and game in that instance.
I really dont like any of these they just look to plain. Nothing about them says pick me. The only thing that I see is the last one. But it looks like it has to poop or something. So really none of them get my vote.
I agree with Dan, I'm not super excited about any of them. I think it's because they don't really seem to mean anything to the team. Creating a logo is a difficult process, I understand that, but I think when the team sees the logo it needs to be something we all identify with.
I also think you're focusing too much on the name. Just because we have a team name doesn't mean we need to use it in the logo. There are countless amount of logos that don't use the name. You just know by looking at it what company it is.
I'm not diggin any of these either. None of them are "Superfluous". They feel very generic and clip artish. I think you need to dig a bit deeper and come up with something truly "Team Superfluous".
I think the only thing that has anything going for itself is the second one. None of them really seem to be "us." I think the TS could be something else. I had mentioned to you earlier about some kind of symbol. However, if this is what you feel...then by all means.
Taking the recommendation by the producer to stop thumbnailing I sketched the logos that the team said they liked the idea of the most. The lack of shading probably adds to the clip art effect.
Right, so the important question is now how can I make these feel more like they stand for "us"? I know a few of the team members liked the idea of a "Mad Man" face but other than that I got some very vague answers. Using the thumbnails I already have what would the team like to see?
At one point Joe mentioned he liked the idea of an Atom inspired design so I'll try that idea out as well.

ReplyDeleteI am having a hard time loving these as well.. none of them don't seem to be us. If you need any help, you could always ask the artist for some help.
