More bugs again

Updated the death again, this time the explode comes from the center. Also I have updated the Crystals to the milestone as well. The center explode one, the movie name for that is DeathBug1.

And... I can't remember, Are we going to need a new thorn bush? Or are we sticking with the bush that I have already give you guys? If we are going to need a new one, when is the milestone for that?

  1. There is alot going on in that file, wow. On a complete side note, the crystal platforms need to be a stone-like color. Not dark purple. They match the tar pits almost perfectly. Some people that I've tested thus far have questioned the platforms and their safety. They need to look more "walkie" friendly.

    If the .fla files in the folder are CS4, I can't open them. They need to be either CS3 or .swf or .exe.

  2. The new bug walk is cooler, I just have a few points to mention. The "feelers" animation is perfectly smooth, the legs are multiple frames, and the butt is two frames; it looks inconsistent as a whole. If everything where the same style of animation, (i.e. like the feelers) it would totally rock. Good luck. Good work.

  3. Looking at the death animations (which you may want to put in separate file so it's easier to crit) I think I like the one exploding from the middle best. However, it still looks off. The pieces flying out of the top makes no sense. I also think it may be too slow.

    As for the cave platforms, I'm looking into the file and I see that the crystals have an opacity on them. I read somewhere that processing opacity takes up a bit of resources. This may be the reason for the recent lag in our game. They need to be a solid color.

  4. Another problem with the platforms is that they don't match the ground that Dan made. I have yet to see Todd's work so I don't know if they match those. You, Dan, and Todd need to be working very close together so that everything matches.

  5. Im not really fond of any of the bug deaths because it does not make sense to me why he is exploding from the middle, and the dust cloud seems like your trying to cover up the bug exploding. For me I think the best one is the top exploding down but it still seems odd. Maybe if you made the bug explode from front to back?

    As for the walk cycle, I think it may look better if you made another section move with the bug. The back two legs seem to be working against the front four legs.

  6. I think the reason she's going for the middle is to avoid separate animations. It wouldn't look right if the bug exploded from the front when you shot it from behind.

  8. Don't just match your crystals to Krissy's!!!! Make sure you guys are communicating on what works best for the game. If you just match hers she might match Dan's ground, and Dan might match your stuff. Then they are all different again, just in other ways.
